Help support the campaign
This campaign is about giving Nationwide members a stronger voice.
If you support that goal, there are a five simple ways you can help.
1. The most important thing you can do
>> Encourage other members to vote
Turnout in Nationwide elections is typically very low (just 4% of total members) — which means every additional vote has real impact.
See the section labelled Voting Conditions on the Nationwide AGM web page.
Review the 2025 Nationwide Voting form design (including the positioning of the ‘Quick vote’) by studying last year’s ballot.
2. Share with others on email, WhatsApp etc.
If you know other Nationwide members, please consider sharing your support.
>> Simple message you can copy:
I’m planning to vote for James Sherwin-Smith - he’s standing for election to the Nationwide board to increase member representation. Worth a look if you’re with Nationwide: https://james4nationwide.co.uk
3. Post on social media
Even a short post can help reach other members.
>> Example post:
Nationwide members will soon be voting to elect directors to the board. I’m supporting James Sherwin-Smith, who is standing to increase member representation: https://james4nationwide.co.uk #James4Nationwide
4. Volunteer
If you’d like to help more actively, you can get involved.
Ways you can help:
- Share key updates with people you know who are Nationwide members
- Ensure instructions are clear when voting opens in June
- Provide feedback or input as the campaign develops
