Elect James
I’m standing for the Nationwide Board — and I’m asking for your vote
I want your vote so we can increase representation of members’ interests at the highest level of decision-making at Nationwide. Voting forms will be sent to members in June, which includes the election of directors.

A quick update
Thanks to the support of hundreds of members, I have now secured enough nominations to stand for election to the Nationwide Board.
This means that, for the first time in over 20 years, members will have the opportunity to vote for an a member nominated candidate.
What happens next
Nationwide will send voting forms to members in June, by post and by email.
When yours arrives:
- It will take a few minutes to complete
- You can vote online or by post
- Every vote genuinely matters — turnout is typically very low

Why I’m standing
Nationwide is owned by its members. That should mean:
- Strong accountability
- Transparency in decision-making
- and a real voice for members
But in recent years:
- AGM voting has fallen below 4% of total members, and attendance has fallen to a few hundred
- There has been no Member Nominated Director, or even a candidate on the ballot, for over 20 years
- Major decisions have taken place with limited member engagement
I believe the society would benefit from greater member representation on the Board.

This campaign depends on members spreading the word.
If you support what I’m trying to do, you can help by:
- sharing this with other Nationwide members
- posting on social media
- encouraging others to vote
