Elect James Sherwin-Smith to represent Nationwide building society members

How to vote ahead of the 2026 Nationwide AGM

Nationwide will contact eligible members by post or email early/mid June.

Once you have received your Voting form from Nationwide, you will be able to vote. You can vote in advance of the AGM, or attend the AGM online (starts 11am, 15th July 2026), and vote during the meeting. Voting closes at the conclusion of the AGM.

How you’ll receive your vote

You will receive either:

  • an email with a voting link (typically from the CESvotes.com domain – Civica Election Services are Nationwide’s chosen facilitator and election scrutineer), or
  • a voting pack from Nationwide with instructions

[For more information as to what to expect – see this post on the 2025 Voting form which outlines the information provided and the voting form design last year.]

What to do

  1. Open the email or letter from Nationwide
  2. Follow the instructions to access the voting form online, or complete the paper form
  3. Vote on the listed resolutions, including your preferred candidates for election to the board
  4. Submit your vote, or mail back the form.

The process typically takes less than 5 minutes.

Important points

  • You must be an eligible Nationwide member to vote. See the section labelled Voting Conditions on the Nationwide AGM web page for how eligibility is defined by the society.
  • Voting is confidential
  • Turnout is usually low — so every vote counts!

If you would like greater member representation on the Nationwide board, please take a moment to vote when your voting form arrives.
