Quick vote demo video 2026
This video shows the voting process for the Nationwide Building Society AGM in 2026.
Civica Election Services (CES) is the “independent scruitneer” paid by Nationwide to oversee the election.
This includes the ‘Quick vote’ functionality as seen in a mobile browser – which is offered by the Board as a “convenient” way to vote for Members.
What this video highlights about the Nationwide AGM 2026 voting system is as follows:
- The Quick vote option displayed prominently at the top of the ballot, above the fold, i.e. without needing to scroll down.
- Selecting the Quick vote option means the rest of the Voting form – the ‘Standard vote’ part – is then no longer viewable. A ‘Next’ button appears instead.
- The Chairman is your Appointed Representative if you use the Quick vote option.
- If you Quick vote, the Chairman will vote in line with the Board’s recommendations: a For vote on resolutions #1-13 including for the Board Appointed Candidates, and an AGAINST vote on resolution #14 (i.e. a vote against me)
- If you use the Standard vote, the Chairman is also your default Appointed Representative. This means that if you don’t vote For, Against or Withheld on every line, the Chairman will be able to vote at his discretion where you have abstained – i.e. he will fill in your ballot where empty, voting For on resolutions, 1-13 and AGAINST resolution 14 (i.e. me).
- If you would like to appoint another member to vote for you at the AGM, you can add their name, customer number and address at the end of the first page of the form. If you would like to appoint me as your representative, please enter my name, customer number and address as follows:
- James Sherwin-Smith – customer number 7161359006
- Westbrook, Lake View Road, Furnace Wood, East Grinstead, West Sussex RH19 2QE
